As you can see, this weeks experiments were many. First I decided to try a Full Comic page format. And while I found that very freeing as far as the writing and pacing of the page, in reality it was just too time consuming. Mostly because of the second experiment I tried.
The backgrounds have almost no hard ink lines. I scanned in my pencils, separated Roland out and just freehand colored the backgrounds to be dark and moody. I was counting on the contrast between the colors to make a neat effect but ultimately, I’m just too lazy to put the time into something like that. Still, I might incorporate a less drastic approach to it at some point.
That is some intense color.
A bit much I know, but it kinda had to be.

I was watching Krull when I did that. Or Ice Pirates, could have been either one.
